Why the Pyrenees
The Pyrenees run for more than 400 km between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, and the roads that cross them are some of the best in Europe for riding: smooth, quiet and full of bends. Our Pyrenees motorcycle tours start in Barcelona and use the mountain roads on both sides of the border, never the motorways.
The N-260 crosses the Spanish Pyrenees from Portbou to Sabiñánigo and is the backbone of most of our routes, with detours to Pedraforca, the Val d’Aran and the canyons of Ordesa. Read our N-260 Pyrenees road guide.
The longer tours cross Andorra and climb the Tour de France passes on the French side, including the Tourmalet and the Aubisque. See riding the Tourmalet and the Aubisque.
If you would rather mix mountains with the sea, the Catalan Pyrenees are only a morning’s ride from the coast roads of the Costa Brava. See our Costa Brava motorcycle routes and all our motorcycle tours from Barcelona.

Every Pyrenees tour is self-guided: ride at your own pace and stop where you like, with the planning and the hotels done for you.

Questions
All four Pyrenees tours start and finish in Barcelona, where we hand over your BMW GS and brief you on the route. You are in the mountains within a couple of hours, without touching a motorway.
June to September for the high passes, which can close with snow outside the summer. The Costa Brava & Catalan Pyrenees tour runs from April to October, and the 2-day Pyrenees Escape has flexible dates.
Yes. The Pyrenees Grand Tour and the Transpyrenees ride through Andorra and over the French cols, including the Tourmalet and the Aubisque, and both are planned around the best roads on either side of the border.
The roads are twisty but well surfaced. The Pyrenees Escape and the Costa Brava & Catalan Pyrenees tour are good first tours, with shorter days. The Grand Tour and the Transpyrenees suit riders who are comfortable with long days of mountain riding.
Every tour includes the BMW F 450 GS. You can upgrade to an F 750/800 GS, F 900 GS, R 1300 GS or R 1300 RT when you book. See the fleet.
