We’ll meet you at Bilbao airport and take you to the hotel. You will have some free time to visit the city or enjoy the hotel. In the evening we will introduce you to the other riders and go for a meal and discuss the tour.
We grab our bikes after breakfast and make our way west riding some amazing roads through Pais Vasco, Cantabria stopping fro lunch in a tradicional spanish restaurante, the view along this jour are breathtaking, long winding bends and hill crests that reveal the road ahead fill have you smiling under your helmet. The roads only get better as we finally reach the Picos de Europa in Asturias.
Huge green rocky mountains, we will follow windy roads that hug the river and continue out journey until we reach our destination in Cangas de Onis, our base for the next few nights. There is plenty to do in the evenings and lots to visit including the traditional cider houses.
Yesterday was a brief taster of the roads to come, and begin riding the famous Picos triangle in a clockwise direction, voted one of the best routes in the world.
Today will be a day of Wow’s, we will wake up early to ride to lake covodonga, a beautiful road up to glaciar lakes with an elevation of 1134 metres in the heart of the Picos de Europa. Be aware we may find heards of cows and goats along the path. After some amazing views we will retreat back down the mountain and make our way to a couple more breath taking landmarks before heading to the green coast. Today will be a day of great memories riding beautiful roads with the best views you could imagine.
On day 3 we rode one of the best roads in the world, today we get to do it all over again in reverse. We start the day heading south having to drive over the top of the picos mountains before decending down to Riaño, after a quick stop in town to take in some breath taking views of the lake and the picos de Europa and of course grab some photos. Next we head towards Potes, a well known stop for many bikers. This will be our last night in Asturias so we will go for a nice meal to discuss the last leg of this tour.
Today is the day we head back east leaving the picos in our rear view mirrors, but beware the roads on the trip back are just as amazing, we have left some of these last gems until the end.
By the time we arrive back in Bilbao you would of riden some of if not the best roads in Spain.
We will go for our final dinner as a group to discuss the tour and talk about the amazing experience we have just endoured.
We say good bye to the guides and catch our flights back home.
