The N-260 is the great road of the Spanish Pyrenees, and this 9-day N-260 motorcycle tour from Barcelona rides almost all of it, from Olot in the Garrotxa to its end at Sabiñánigo. Climb the Collada de Toses and the Port del Cantó, ride the Collegats gorge, the Coll de Fadas and the famous Congosto de Ventamillo, a road cut into the rock above the Ésera river, then cross the Añisclo canyon and the Puerto de Cotefablo to the Valle de Tena.
Seven riding days, around 1,300 km, high-end hotels and Paradores booked for every night and your BMW GS and GPS routes ready from day one. No motorways and no tolls, just the best mountain roads in Catalonia and Aragón.

Arrive in Barcelona and check in to your hotel. Collect your BMW, and we run through the tour, the bike and your digital route guide with the GPS routes for every day. The rest of the day is yours to explore the city.
Leave the city for the Montseny massif, then ride quiet roads through Viladrau and Vic to the stone village of Rupit and down into the volcanic Garrotxa at Olot. Pick up the N-260 west through Sant Joan de les Abadesses to Ripoll, then climb the Collada de Toses (1,800 m) into the Cerdanya. Around 280 km, the longest day of the tour.
Follow the N-260 down the Cerdanya to La Seu d’Urgell, then over the Port del Cantó (1,725 m), one of the great N-260 climbs, to Sort. In the afternoon, ride up the Noguera Pallaresa valley to Esterri d’Àneu and the Port de la Bonaigua (2,072 m), then back to Sort for the night. Around 200 km.
South along the Noguera Pallaresa through the Collegats gorge to La Pobla de Segur, then back on the N-260 over the Coll de la Creu de Perves to El Pont de Suert. Detour up the Vall de Boí to Taüll and its Romanesque churches, then ride the N-260 over the Coll d’Espina and the Coll de Fadas to Castejón de Sos and the Benasque valley. Around 160 km.
The highlight of the tour: the N-260 through the Congosto de Ventamillo, a narrow gorge where the road is cut into the rock above the Ésera river, down to Campo. Over the Collado de Foradada to the medieval town of Aínsa, then the narrow road through the Añisclo canyon to Fanlo, Broto and Torla, at the gates of the Ordesa National Park. Around 120 km, slow and spectacular.
Spend the morning walking in Ordesa, or ride straight on. Cross the Puerto de Cotefablo on the N-260 to Biescas, then ride up the Valle de Tena to the Portalet (1,794 m) on the French border and on to the mountain lake at the Balneario de Panticosa. Night in the Valle de Tena. Around 110 km.
Ride the last stretch of the N-260 to its end at Sabiñánigo, then cross Sobrarbe to Boltaña and turn south through Graus and the hills of Ribagorza to Benabarre and Tremp. Around 200 km.
Over the Coll de Comiols, one of the best roads in Catalonia, to Artesa de Segre, then east through Solsona and the salt-mountain town of Cardona to Montserrat and back to Barcelona, where you hand back your bike. Around 245 km.
Check out after breakfast and head home with the N-260 in your memory.

Expect a week of mountain roads with very little traffic: long climbs to the passes, deep gorges and stone villages, with hairpins from breakfast to the last coffee stop. Most days are 110–250 km, so there is time to stop, and the first day to the Cerdanya is the longest.
The high passes, including the Bonaigua and the Portalet, are clear of snow in summer, so we run this tour from June to September, on the dates that suit you.
